I checked my coolant level several weeks ago before running out at Motorsports Ranch. The coolant level in the main tank was to the top, but the overflow level was towards the bottom of the tank. I went ahead and filled the overflow tank to about the middle and ran on the track without any problems.

Well, this weekend while at Texas Motor Speedway, I drove three laps then parked the car. I noticed that coolant was pouring out of the overflow tank area. Any thoughts?? I think I just got it too full, but noticed that it's running a little hot now!! Maybe burping would help? Your thoughts are appreciated!!

Hey after the event Saturday night we were leaving and I decided
to blow some of the heat out of the engine by turning the temp
control knob on the air conditioner to full hot and put the
fan full on and selected the first selection to the left of
center on the flow selector. The thought being that I was going
to pull heat from the engine by allowing it to go into the heater
core and rolling down the windows and venting it out of the cabin. I've done this with other cars and it works well...

So I set all the settings and hey, there's no heat coming out of
the air conditioning ducts, just outside air... but the temp
guage is dropping. It dropped so well that now the temp guage
is straight up. My car never has run that cool ever. Its always
been to the right of center.

So I think, what the heck and flip the knob over another notch
to the air conditioner setting and the air is blowing cold air
from the ducts, cool...

I've been driving the car like that ever since, and it seems
to help cool the car... (air conditioner on, heat knob full on)

I know the heater valve is working but I'd sure like to know
where all that heat is being directed to....

But I sure like how cool the car is running now too.

Not sure if this info helps but in years past I have set my heater to full in the summer in my modified 69 Camaro (no a/c) and it does seem to reduce engine temps a bit. The air coming out of the vents felt just like outside air as its usually very hot inside the car anyway.
