I am trying to wrap up the car for inspection.....
I have heard a loud tick, and have assumed that it was internal damage from the accident. Upon further checking the noise is:
1. louder at the fuel injectors.
2. quieter on intake
3. and even quieter at head near spark plug.
The noise definetly sounds like the top of the motor, and tends to get quiet when revving, but comes back below around 2000. sounds like a lifter almost, but doesn't verify.

ANYONE. please help. I have alot of mopars and this is not normal injector tick that is heard, this can be heard with hood closed.

Disconnect the fuel injector wiring plugs one at a time and see if the noise goes away. Be prepared for the dash light to come on (you may want to do this last if you don't have a code reader that can clear it and have other things to check first.)

Fuel consumption at high idle isn't that much more than fuel consumption at low idle, so the change in ticking can only be due to rate of injector pulse triggers.

A lifter clatter is a very easy sound to distinguish and is fairly common on the viper. Any good mechanic can tell you whether it is a lifter. The injector sound is far different.

If it's one side, perhaps remove that valve cover, put towel on exhaust and start engine for a moment. You can put your fingers (carefully) on each rocker and/or pushrod to check effect on the noise. Careful with gaskets- the rocker cover gaskets are $$$.
