Help me please, feedback

I am looking for some feedback on mods. I have about $8K to spend on my 94. Right now, I have tubes, filters, no cats, with 3" exhaust. I was thinking about headers, rockers, vec1, along with some safety mods such as rollbar, ss brake lines, etc and maybe a small nitrous kit. On the other hand, I have been talking with Sean Roe about his gen 1 s/c kit. If I get the kit, I initially will not have headers, rockers, rollbar, etc. I don't get to the track much at all, this is just a cruiser with several occasional highway blasts from 60 to ?? I have been going crazy for the past month trying to figure out which is the best route to go.

Anyone gone through this?? I get the feeling that some have already been where I am at today.

for 8 gs i would go with a set of bealnger headers 3"catback.355 rear gears.eradispeed rotors,with ss brake lines,and go from there,when you can spend more go for a roe blower.

I would vote s/c, but first I would consider using that $$$ to upgrade to a gen2 RT/10 or GTS. Depending on driving habits and your fondness on the gen1 of course.

I will be keeping the Gen 1 forever. I may add a GTS to the garage someday. My driving habits are normally pretty simple, lots of time on country roads and highways. I very rarely go to the track. As I said, I just enjoy a nice 60-140 highway blast every now and then to liven things up! I want to mod the car and not have to work on it every weekend. I will put on about 7,000 miles per year. Anyone have any Roe s/c numbers without headers on a Gen 1???

Go with the SC. You will get a real power boost that you can feel.
All the other stuff you listed, except the nitrous kit, will not give you anywhere near the bang for the buck.

Besides, how much more cool would it be to have a supercharged Viper?

Very cool. And for a guy who isn't going to the track and just sprints a little on the highway now and then,
cool is a large part of the whole Viper thing.

Go with the supercharger. It's a no brainer.

I'm sure the header crowd will disagree with me - but as I am in the process of replacing my head gaskets - and have had a good look at the stock "headers" and stock exhaust - I'd venture to bet that a good part of the HP claims that everyone talks about with headers comes from replacing the stock cats and muffler.

I tend to agree with you. I have seen a few claims of 25rwhp by just removing the cats and running bullet 3" exhaust with stock headers on a gen 1. It seems that with a complete catless 3" along with headers, the numbers are around 40 RWHP. I live in Sugar Grove, just west of Aurora. I travel to the quad cities a few times a month for work. I88 is a fun highway, nice and straight!!

I plan on getting a blower possibly someday but the best bang for the buck a s/c? I tend to disagree with that one. Put a 200 shot of nitrous in that gen1 and the dyno #'s are well above what a blower would give you. Remember one thing, the gen1 cars can handle all the extra horsepower a lot better than the later cars. They have forged pistons and a larger fuel system. For me, my "no brainer" decision was based on cost factor vs bang for the buck. My blower is on hold for awhile, it is nitrous for me!

I did strongly consider nitrous, but I don't like the fact that you have to fill that damn bottle!! I agree with you that it seems to be the best bang for the buck. Something about the S/C that has always intrigued me. I love the whine so much that I thought about asking Sean if he could put together a s/c with some extra whine in it.

Still wondering if anyone has a Roe Gen 1 with stock exhaust and what type of numbers they have gotten.
