If you have an early '93, my money is that it is the exhaust hangers. The exhaust on our cars needs to move around. Early '93s have the pipes attached with spring type clamps. They always squeak. For about $40, you can buy a kit that converts the car to the newer rubber bushings. It's pretty easy to do. You can see instructions how to do it in the illustrated upgrades section of the vca site.

This is a stupid question but I'm well aware of Neutral gear rattle. Question is, can you hear it outside the car? I keep forgetting to ask my wife to stand beside the car and listen for it. The only time I think about it is when I'm stopped at a long red light, shift into neutral and let the clutch out. Then I wonder if the people looking at the car are doing so because it's a Viper or because they can hear the rattle!

I had a problem similar to this on my Cherokee and it was the Cataylic Convertor cover. Is that same thing possible on the Snake's?
