3 times now over the last month I have had an incident where when starting off from a stoplight my car felt like it was missing/hesitating almost like the timing was off, wasn't getting fuel or something.
it happened in 1st, 2nd gear at low revs once I drove it for a 1/2 mile or so
and got moving it seemed to clear itself up.

car has been running flawless otherwise and even immediately after the hesitation once it started acting normal everything was fine.
it happened saturday morning cleared up, I drove about 350 miles on saturday with no issues. then last night did the same thing.

doesn't seem to matter if car is cold or hot.

I have a code reader, will the car send codes even if I get no warning lights etc on dash?

what is "limp mode" or more correctly what does it do?
what causes a vehicle to go into limp mode?

also about 500 miles ago my key fob went bad and I had to pop the emergency door release to get into my car. alarm went off but I reset it immediatley with the keyswitch in storage bin. could that cause an intermittent issue.

would never had known about the alarm reset if it weren't for the VCA message board. one more reason to always carry the owners manual.
thanks to all
and the VCA rocks.

car is a 2000 rt/10 w/ 40,000 miles. battery is only 2 months old, wires and plugs were replaced in 9/08.
as for fuel filter, if I read the service manual correctly it said fuel filter is part of the fuel pump assem. located in tank. which means dropping tank to check/ change fuel filter what a pia.

wouldn't an issue with the fuel pump filter be an ongoing issue and not clear up on its own?

I will try resetting the pcm also just in case.

I did have an issue with a faulty water pump a few months ago, that allowed my car to get fairly hot before I got it home, so to be on the safe side I am going to change plugs wires again.
Thanks for the help.

yes u could have shot a plug with that heat, usually and plugged filter wont make a car run rough,a plugged filter will cause a fall on its face type of condition.

Read the Wizard's procedure on how to properly reset the PCM:
