Hood question to Paxton SC installers

I installed my Paxton Super charger on my 98 GTS. Now my hood will not close. Any ideas what may be hitting. So far it appears it may be the back hood spring hitting the outside of the new Paxton cross member support bracket. Any suggestions on how to evaluate this?

It may be the cross brace connecting the two hood springs. I had to cut mine off for clearance.

that was my problem as well but it was hitting the DLM injectors..

doesn't look like the hood was hitting the springs or cross brace in your case though...should clear it.

are you sure its the brace ?

FIXED IT!!!

IT WAS THE AIR CLEANER.

I had the air cleaner turned up to much. I ajusted it so it was nice and level and looking good. But that is not the way it works.

You'll like this. Here is what I did to find it and anyone can do this. I mixed up some flower and water. Keeping it as thick as posible. I placed a blob of this in a baggie. I began laying the baggie around the places I suspected hitting and I would close the hood. Then when I opened the hood I looked for an impression on the baggie. Then the last place I tried it showed up and it all made sence. I turned the aircleaner down and the hood shuts perfectly.

That is exactly what I wanted to use but my 3 year old grandson did not leave any at house for me to play with. I'll be having a talk with him the next time I see him.

Glad to see you figured it out, I was going to say you could ask your wife to get under there with a flashlight while you closed the hood....but then she would see all the stuff you bought for the car

Funny!

She would only do that if I gave her and credit card to hold wiht the flashlight.


Funny thing is I had her looking around the radiator suport for a tag and I was on the phone with her and she never asked about the flashy stuff. So far I got away with it. This may change this weekend. I'll let you know what happens.

For those of you who are wonding what is going on here I never told my wife I was super charging my viper.
