My hood is rubbing against the front wheels when trying to open. As soon as you pop up the hood after the second latch its already touching at the bottom of the hood right in front of the Viper insignia, making it difficult to open.

When hood is closed all gaps etc are fine on both side etc. Has anyone else have this problem, what should I do.

Thanks

i just looked again its only touching the drivers side wheel, after popping the second latch it already touches so trying to open the hood after is a pain, it rubs right on the corner of the hood right in front of Viper insignia.

Any ideas guys?

I think it's okay SuperSaiks.

I popped the hood outside of a service bay once and lowered the hood lightly but didn't close it and drove a few yards into the service bay and heard a noise. I had no idea what it was but the mechanic told me the front wheels were rubbing the hood while I was moving. It was the tires rubbing against the area you area talking about. I only checked the drivers side and there was no damage but a light scuff mark.

For openning/closing the hood, I think it actually gives the hood a little leverage and it's okay. I have no problems opening/closing the hood even if it happens to rub. My hood/lights gap is perfect. Just don't drive that way, even for a little ;)

Lesson learned for me,
Santo

I have no issues there. I have noticed the gap before, just under 1" when both latches are popped. I would try to fix as over time it would scuff/rub the paint off.

Mine rubs at that spot too. Its worn away a bit on the corners, but its on the inside of the fender lip. I just brush some paint over it when it bothers me.
