So I got me an autometer shift light to install... it says to get the TACH signal from the back side of the tachometer or the PCM tach supply signal... I don't have a shop manual (you'd think I would by now)... so where is the _easiest_ place to pick up the signal on a 99?

Thanks in advance!

You can take it from any of the injector cables.
I use it for the remote starter.
That`s the most reliable place.

(Don`t use the sparc plug cables ...)

Martin - Thanks. Go fix your fuel pump then give me sh*t.

andkovacs - An injector cable? Never heard of that. Sounds like an interesting idea, though... Just tap into an injector line? That doesn't sound quite right...

Can you pleae clarify? Sorry to be an idiot about this...

I have a RPM tap on the Cam sensor wire, it is in the top wire loop near the front of the power steering pump and the wire loop goes to the drivers side fender wall where two connectors are stacked on top of each other, it is in the connector on the top. Look for the tan wire with the yellow stripe; it is an 18 gauge wire. You get one pulse per revolution. I hope this pick works

Take a look at "My Gallery", I have locations and colors for both shift light and window switch pickup's. The picture is the schematic of the NOS setup. Remember when locating C1, C2 and C3, C3 is the front plug.
