Hello everyone:

I was just wondering, how often do you guys change your tires. I have my original tires on my RT/10 and have 11,000 miles on her. I have heard stories from 8,000 miles to 20,000 miles for tire life. Let me know what you guys have done.

Thanking you in advance :D

15K so far, probably another 5K on the rears, 10K or more left on the fronts. Not as bad as I feared.

I changed tires on my last RT/10 at 20,000 miles. The rear tires seem to wear out faster for some reason. :D To be safe, I would recommend changing the rears at 15,000 and the fronts at 20,000.

During the last 50,000 miles, I kept track. I averaged 13,000 on the fronts about 8,500 on the rears. Tire type (Michelin XGTZ, MXX3, Pirelli P-Zero) didn't matter.

This car will outlive my need to flog. I think I'll have to add that to my signature.

13,000 to 15,000 for both front and rear for the RT/10. No idea with the SRT and runflats.

About 7k beyond that the tread is still there but the traction/cornering ability is all but gone.

I have been told its from the heat cycles, because the tires show more than 50% tread left.

F355, I have nearly 70,000 miles on the odometer, the last 50,000 miles with me behind the wheel. I bought it with 30,000 km on the odometer from Canada (which is about 19,000 miles) and switched to a US odometer that was much less. So I have to add about 14,000 to the current reading, which is now almost 55,000... so 55+14~ 70K miles.

There is something to heat cycles, sometimes the tires show enough tread but are pretty slippery. You'd expect that, since the old XGTZ rears are a "100" treadwear rating.

I get ~20k out of rear Pilot Sports, and ~30k out of front Pilot Sports.

I think that considering the traction that you want to have with the Viper, the age is just as important as the miles.
I'm betting my soft Kouhmos wear out, with normal street use, at about the same time the traction would be gone with a normal tire.
And if you figure the price, I'd say the Kouhmos are a break even with tires that last twice the miles.

Now, of course, this is only true for cars that don't see lots of miles every year. I think that's most Vipers.

I got around 10 K miles onthe first set of tires but the fronts were much more worn than the rears??? I noticed a big difference with new tires all the way around ( heat cycles)

Since my car visited Jason Heffner, my tires don't seem to last as long (especially the rears). Gee, I wonder why? :D
