Good find, it is pretty tight in there, and I bet this happens quite often...

i will say, all my Vipers are on battery tenders, they just don't get driven long enough, often enough, for me to keep them going without them...

I have a 2003 and found the battery cover was touching the positive terminal when it was screwed on. I glued some rubber on the bottom of the cover and put a terminal cover on the positive terminal and that has helped a lot but still find it drains pretty quickly when parked. Also in the manual it has a procedure you can do when parking the car to make the battery drain less, but it involves turning the key 4 times between 2 settings and then clicking the door lock button. Then the car beeps if you have done it properly, not sure if your model has that feature I tried it once and that helps too.
