Almost every drag racer that I talked to during the several events of the V-10 Nationals Series has had problems with their clutch one time or another. I personally have gone through at least 4 clutch disks in the last year and a half.I have a 95 GEN1 with about 415 RWHP and 470 RWTQ.

I feel that my Fedanza aluminum flywheel had something to do with eating my clutch too fast but I was tired of the aggravation and expense involved in replacing a clutch disk.

Somehow I came across a post about the Feramic clutch from www.HorsePowerFreaks.com and I decided to give it a try. Of course it is more expensive than a stock clutch but I felt that the stock clutch was not strong enough for the abuse a clutch goes through during drag racing.

So, I tried it although it didn’t seem to be one of the most popular after market clutches. I was sold based on what I read from another member and they way that it is advertised on their website:

It rides well on the street with very little chatter. I raced the car in Gainesville and I probably made at least 10 passes. No problems with the clutch! I “raced” the car at Sebring with SAFE Motorsports (www.SAFEmotorsports.com) and the clutch gave me no trouble what so ever!

Last weekend during the famous FINALS at V-10 Nationals in Bradenton I made at least a dozen passes including the ones that won me 1st place with no clutch problems what so ever:

I am very happy with this clutch!! I predict say how it will hold up with some of those very powerful vipers but their website mentions that will work fine for vipers with 600 to 1100 torque.

Just so everyone is clear, I was not asked and I don’t benefit in a way by making this post. I simply speak out when I see or know of something that works or when it doesn’t.
