If the rear end is going bad

Mine made noise all the time before it blew up on the dyno. it was rattling for 6+ months. I guess I had gotten used to every gear shift ginding a little..

oh yeah. whined a lot.

Yep, mine was whining only while turning and under power. With the clutch in, no noise. Go get yourself a Unitrax before it grenades on you.
