I\'m purchasing rims from CCW and need info.

I'm would like to purchase a set of 19"&20" rims from CCW 505A for my SRT_10.They told me the rear tires will stick out about an inch.Does anyone know if they look good and if the car handles better or worst. And how hard is it to keep that aluminum wheel looking new.THANKS RICK

From what I have heard, the bigger you get, the worse the car handles, especially 20's. Too big for a SRT-10!!!

If you get the proper offset, they should not stick out at all. ccw should know what the offset is for your car. This is what happens when you get the wrong offset, all thats missing is the curb feelers and fender flares. This is not my car, The person who bought them got the wrong offset.

If the wheels had the proper offset, it would look tons better.

who told you that. I think that its the oppsite. Thus the change from gen 1 17" gen 2 18" and gen 3 19".

the new buggati has 22 or 24s from the factory and its killer handling.

I think VD what Tiger was trying to say is the bigger the rim the hatder the ride.Which is true since there almost no meat on the lip.The handling part is true what you said. The bigger the rim the better it will take turns.

Not sure that bigger is better. You need some sidewall flex to keep the tread in optimium contact.

Now the lack of sidewall flex will improve turn-in response, but not necessarily lead to improved cornering capability. I say ask this question in the tire/wheel forum and see what Luke has to say.

Rims used to mean stamped steel "factory" wheels. To call aluminum wheels "rims" is ghetto speak. My $0.02

i dont believe the statement " the bigger the rim the better it will take turns", take a look at Formula 1, CHAMP, and INDY cars. they all have smaller wheels and taller tires. Another thing is that the bigger the wheel the heavier it usually is. A reduction in the unprung rotatating mass will help the handling of the car much more The lighter a wheel is the better a car will perform and handle. The taller the wheel(and smaller the aspect ratio of the tire) will make the ride much harder, as the amount of rubber surrounding the wheel left to absorb the impact of bumps is reduced. In theory the taller wheel, small aspect ratio tire, will increase the turn in feel as the amount of give the tire will have when stressed is reduced. addtionally the chance of getting a blow out or damaging a wheel is also increased will less rubber between the tire surface and wheel.
