A few pics from last weekend.
Jim and Debbie Tait hosted the first event of the season, and what a great time! Jim is well know for his attention to detail and this was one well thought out and executed event. His personal knowledge of the Island served well to provide us with a fun, well paced weekend with something for everyone.
It was kind of a gamble having an event this early in the year, even in B.C.!
The 97C (for those of us who came from the Okanagan) was a bit wet near the summit, as the picture below shows, but this was as bad as it got, and for the rest of the weekend the weather was spectacular!
Members filtered in from around the map, the trip over on BC Ferries provided a breather and an oportunity to stretch our legs, (or detail the car below decks for some) though it was a bit brisk to hang out on the sun deck the views through the Georgia Straight are hard to top.
Once we were in Victoria, we didn't see as much as a drop of rain. Flowers were out, tourists have yet to ascend on the provincial capital and we were greeted warm weather and warm welcomes wherever we travelled. As we gathered from all points at the Coast Victoria Harbourside there was time to unwind before heading out for dinner at Milestones (also harbourside) with great views of marine and air-marine traffic as the sun set and the lights of the parliment buildings became our backdrop.
Members from Vancouver Island joined familar faces from the mainland and the Okanagan for a good meal Friday night.
There's no shortage of photo ops in Victoria, no matter the time of day...or year.
...more to come.
