IVCA Staff put together a great VIPER DAY @ Route 66 speedway!Interested in the amateur VIDEO "vipers gone wild" of the day?We got all or close, cars launching though 1320'+ ET/MPH.Of course some bonus close up shots of "TOOOFST".I think 40+- cars showed.Funny thing their was one late 80's vette running, maybe his viper was at the dealer and its a loaner.Fastest run of the day, (Disappointing)12.28/122mph.TOOOFST's 99R/T ran 2nd,12.34/[email protected] half asleep,I had newborn nightshift.Personally upset I couldn't get my 60ft.times below 2.0.Track was cool 60's,not good for stock tires.Anyone try 50/50 mix with 100octane?I did lower the car 1" the day before,by cutting springs. That was my pet peeve.Too much space between the tire and wells. All the cool sports cars have that area nice and tight(I SAID SPORTS CARS):LOL

S.on the way up close to the track area ,ran into new zo6 and a super mod vette with numbers and race paint scheme.side by side I hit it hard, dropping to 2nd at 60.The rad vette(race car maybe going to new speedway)was right there in 4th.The z06 must have stopped for directions

I also thought the turnout was great and agree that the 1/4 mile times were disappointing. Especially mine, best of 13.007. I seemed to mess something up everytime I went down the track, either hitting the rpm limiter, being unable to put the car in gear quick enough or even missing a gear, not to mention spinning the tires too much and not getting traction(XGT-Z). I also think I was too nervous and inexperienced (being a first time racer). I was so shocked at how hard it was to preform an error free run with the natural engine alone, that I did not even attempt to use the BTRviper nitrous/propane system I have on the car. I hope to improve at the next event.

I had a great time,

John
