There is an interesting 2 page article in the July 5th Auto Week that quotes a number of car manufacturers as saying that track use voids the warranty for resultant problems. For example, it quotes a Porshe spokesman as saying "When it hits the track, all bets are off".
With respect to DC >>>>>> "Technically, racing damage is not covered under warranty," says SRT spokesman Dan Bodene. "If a guy autocrosses, submits a problem for warranty, and the dealer suspects it is racing-related, he's going to huddle with our technicians to find out. If it is, our dealers are not obligated to cover it under warranty."
The overall flavor of the article is that any type of track-use-related mechanical damage (timed event or otherwise) may not be covered. My take-away (read conjecture) is that if you do have problems of this origin, taking your car to a Viper-friendly dealer may very well be the key to getting your repairs covered under warranty.
