Oddly enough, that's about the same conversation I had with K&N 5 yrs ago or so..

I have 2 Vipers and they fit in one no problems and the other is a pain in the ***.
Clips popping like popcorn.
The solution is to grind down the lip inside the airbox, which I have not done yet.
But I hardly drive the other anymore.

S&B's are the answer in my opinion, like Chuck says "Nobody has ever posted a "fit" problem with Sean Roe's filters."

You'd think one who owns two Viper's, could tell the difference between the front and the back of an air filter???

Yet we have two, that can't, in this very thread!

Re: K&N filter installed today

I recently installed the Roe filters in my 96 RT, previously I had the K&N's...In my air box, with the K&N's, the
clips would pop more like grasshoppers than popcorn!

Anyway, I can tell that my air box is not true anymore, so that no doubt contributes to the problem...I did get
a better fit with the Roe filters, I took a little of the curve out of the spring clips (squeeze in a vice) and after
doing that, they are all on there for the past 4-5 weeks...With the K&N's and taking some curve out of the
spring clips, I would always lose a clip every few weeks it seemed...

PS I do love driving to the GM dealer in the Viper to get clips!!! It's fun to give them a Viper sighting every
so often... :D :usa:
