Latest word on 08s?

I know I should fight my way through the threads but what is the latest word on 08s hitting the streets?? I have heard everything from soon to never (the new owners putting the clamps on)

Also, will all be presold?

Sold my 05, looking at 06 Coupes, Zo6s (now that prices are right) and 08 snakes.

Sold my 05, looking at 06 Coupes, Zo6s (now that prices are right) and 08 snakes.

The current estimates are that production will begin in mid to late Sept. Certain options such as optional center console bezels and two-tone interiors will create a bit more of a delay because the initial run of 08s will not have either of these options.

I have an 08 on order in Viper GTS Blue (a first run color) with the graphite bezel and two-tone interior and my guesstimate as to when I will get the car is November.

I don't know about the presold issue; my sense is that most of the cars will be preordered by buyers but I would invite Jon B, or staff from Tators and Woodhouse to respond.

Call Chuck Tator for status on current 08 deliveries. Vprdrummer, if you are looking at z06's you are looking at a totally different type of car than the Viper, I am sure you know. The Z's are slower and not as exotic as the Vipers. If you cannot wait for the 08 Viper, get an 06 and w/ some basic mods you will out run the Z in just about every area.

I anticipate the 08 snakes will be around $95,000 w/ dealer mark up...if not higher.

U don't have to pay $95000, Bill P sells for msrp.. Some dealers for less..

True, as does Chuck Tator. The 08 is an incredible vehicle, however, the 06 is no slouch. From what I understand it may be very difficult to get an 08 right now. Call either of those two guys for specifics.

Aha, I knew it wouldn't take long! It sounds like the 08s are to be made in batches by color and pre-sold, so do check with a (reputable) dealer on the current status. Since you sold the 05, seems like you could wait a few months for an 08... (And I'll pretend I didn't hear that part about vettes.)
