with the VEC1 to assist, the best we could get was high 13s/low 14s for the AF ratio? its my understanding that i should want to be in mid 12s, correct?

how much power does this truly rob the car

Depends, but 14 is a little lean. Now if your car has a super charger, then you want to be around 11.5 or bye, bye, pistons. It will not rob it of much power though.

If you could pump a few extra psi from the fuel pump that'd get your ratio down a bit. They range from 50psi to 60psi and maybe yours is closer to 50???

Mojo - If you are goint to stay N/A then 14.0 is acceptable. But, if you were reading that on a Dyno, then you are too lean. I would look at doing the Walbro pump upgrade.

Rich:

Most of the Vipers run in 13-14 range with the stock computer. On the other hand it is not a single number, you have to post the curve. I have to disagree with martin, look at the fuel pressure when on the dyno, that tells you if you have to change the fuel delivery system. At WOT and high rpm's you should be at 50-55 psi. It is easy to check. Too many people are suggesting a change in fuel pump when it is not required (sorry Martin).
