Went to a local dealer unannounced to view a 2001 GTS. Walked in and did not see the car. Ask the sales guy walking buy if the car had already been sold. He said, no the car is not here. I asked where is the car thinking it may be at another lot or location. He made a few comments that indicated he did not have a clue about what a Viper is. He infered that they had two but I told him I was interested in the yellow one. He said oh the sporty looking one (GTS), I said yes laughing to myself. Well he now tells me that the car will not be back for a week and has been gone for a week because the owner of the dealership kids are driving it. (that explains why in the ad they say to call before coming in)

I have no problems with a the owner doing what the heck he wants with his cars. His dealership, his decisions. The sales guy could not understand why I was no longer interested in the car. Well when the ad hit, the car had 123xx miles. Last pic of the speedo was 138xx miles. That was prior to the latest driving episode. My guess is the car will now have at least 15xxx if it gets back to the dealer. I just was dismayed that a nice car, by description anyway, is getting what I will call "rental" drivers abuse. Again, kids could be the greatest kids in the world, just have to guess that driving a Viper that is not theirs will not get the same level of respect from a "owner".

Just alittle disappointed since this car was priced right, a little high on the miles I wanted at 123xx, right color and model. Damn. Ok, next car.

I would have to agree with you. If you did not pay for it, you would be more likely to abuse it.

But once the next guy buys it....the history of the "rental" days will have passed. Unless you purchase a new car......
