New Viper owner here (2003 SRT10). Looking for any other local Viper owners in the Sugarland, Tx area. Would love to meet up with someone more comfortable with maintenance, good mechanics in the area, etc.

Living in Richmond. Still a pipe dream right now but I’ve been shopping vipers for a bit and hoping to pull the trigger soon. Currently looking mostly at a GenIII’s too. If I find something I’ll reach out. Or if you happen to come across an interesting deal let me know. I’m finding it hard to find one with proper maintenance records…

I'm located in baytown and just purchased a gen iii a few months ago. Unfortunately I decided to do a slight teardown on it and it'll be awhile before I get to do any driving. Once all is done I plan on driving way more than I really should. I'm not very knowledgeable with mechanics in the area as I do that myself but hopefully someone else will know. txrunner is the car your talking about red?

I live about 2 hours out of Houston and just bought a 98 RT10. It has an old unaddressed Recall. What is the best Houston area Dodge dealership to take it to?

I live in Seabrook, Tx just bought a ‘94 a couple weeks ago. Been having a tech at my own shop go through everything. Not saying by any means we are “viper specialists”. Though we have worked on the suspension on many. Anyway got one of my sharpest younger techs on it.
Anyway anything I can help with or if you just want to stop by the shop (Webster, tx). Happy chat awhile or help with whatever.

I just picked up a 06 Vert on Friday. Love it! I'm in Corpus Christi but I do travel over to Sugarland and Pasadena often. I've worked on my past cars myself...then started driving newer cars with warranties and will be excited to start wrenching around again.

I took my car out for the first Sunday drive and caught a nail on the front tire....geez....it was bad and would not hold air...I plugged it myself. I just today had time had time to start looking at this car. I'm definitely going to start trying to learn to work on them like I have other cars.

I’ve got a 2004 and I live in the Atoscosita area. I’m looking for a viper meet up. Are you guys interested in starting one? Potentially once a month on the weekends somewhere around Houston.
What kind of maintenance are you needing done? I do a lot of my own maintenance but primarily simple stuff. All fluid changes, oil cooler lines, exhaust, coil overs, sway bar links. Those are the mods I’ve done myself.

That's very interesting. I remember back when I first moved to the Houston area I needed to align my Ram 3500, this was before I got back into automotive, and Axle and Wheel was one of the suggestions. The diesel community spoke highly of your shop so congrats on maintaining a good reputation that's certainly not easy.

Just in general in regards to anyone asking about repairs/maintenance I would say working on these isn't generally difficult at all. It's low so certain jacks won't be usable and it can be a real pain in the back being bent over the engine bay. On a gen 3/4 I personally find working over the large fenders/ front core support area to be tiresome. I'd definitely get some fender covers, old blankets, ect. Lots of threads out there have shown the general maintenance processes really well so there's plenty of help out there for that. Since these are an old pushrod design and free of vvt up until gen4-5 they are basic in engine operation. Not a lot going on network/electrical wise either especially compared to anything newer. Now if you wanted a Service Manual the only way to get a decent one is finding them used or a cd copy someone has made. I believe starting in geniv they went completely digital with no official print versions out there as well. I personally don't know of any aftermarket manuals in print either but I may be mistaken. Some sites offer downloads for a fee but I don't know how good those truly are. I've done a basic look at the Mitchell one through work and I wasn't terribly impressed. For a DIY situation I think the Mitchell online manual is ~$20 and would be better than nothing

Are you interested in a viper meet up in the area or do you know of one currently? I’ve driven mine to Dallas for a couple of meet ups and they have awesome turn outs. 30+ vipers. Makes for a fun afternoon. They usually end it at Topgolf or something like that.

I'd be down to help start up some sort of Houston area group. I was at the the car show in Friendswood at stevenson park last Saturday. There was probably 100 or so cars, I was surprised to find mine was the only Viper there. It would be cool to get a group together. If you wanted to talk more you could call either shop and leave a message for me if I'm not there.

ps. Onelowr,
Thanks for the compliment on our shop we try our best to live up to our reputation every day.
Your right nothing extraordinary special about maintenance or repairs on these cars. Just a matter of being able to lift them on a rack when you need to get under them. (Of course I got that part covered)

There used to be a viper specific meet but it's been years since I've heard of it going on. I think part of the problem is the Houston area is so large that everyone is usually very spread out. Some people aren't willing to do an hour or hour plus drive to attend a meet and that is very possible around here. I'm still waiting on several parts so it'll probably be awhile before I get to take my car to any meet.
The recent cars and coffee had about 4-5 vipers there if I remember correctly. I only saw gen ii and v's there including one tt Nth gen v.

Hey guys, new owner here in Richmond/Katy area. Recently picked up a Gen3 with paxton supercharger.

Went to cars and coffee, not much going on there. Any Viper meets? Would love to check out some cars and talk mods. I'd like to tinker with mine, so looking for advise and recommendations for shops.

Just called Serious HP and waiting for a call back, but would be happy to meet with some fellow enthusiasts.

Hello everyone! 1st post.

Alright it sounds like a few are willing to meet up. How about we start here, (attached pic, All American Muscle Car Meet) and try for once a month. I will coordinate if everyone is cool with it, I know a few shops around, Kozmic and Pro Speed who might be interested. I’m willing to drive anywhere, north or south Houston to accommodate everyone.

That wasn’t me, I’m in Spring, but all my buddies are down in your area. Yes I still have my car, and I’m looking to get a few of us Houston Viper owners together
