Hey guys.....looking to buy a used set of headers for my SRT. Had a set I wanted to buy, but lost them to another buyer. I would prefer a set simular to the TNT's with highflow cats. Thanks

Strangely enough, I made a similar post a while back - with no results. I will PM you with a lead on some used TNT headers if they are still available. I am looking for Belanger myself...

You do realize you already have headers from the factory? The Belangers seem to be a popular choice but they are not stainless steel which bothers me for the price they charge even though they are coated.

I fail to see the advantage of Stainless Steel over coated? I have 50,000 miles and 5 years on my Belanger Headers with no problems. How long do they have to last? How many here will ever get to the numbers I just stated? I believe most stainless steel exhaust to be made of T-304. This is not a good grade of SS. It has a lot of iron content which, with the higher heat generated by stainless, can become brittle, rust, and break. Our SS Eldorado exhaust system just fell off at the muffler last week from this very condition. There are no vehicles babied more than a Viper as far as salt and rust producing conditions go. Typically, Vipers only see the best weather. Coated exhaust systems, like the Belanger, will basically last forever and generate less heat to the engine compartment. I ran the OEM plug wires for 40,000 miles with the uncovered headers and never missed a beat.

As for the price....that could be argued. The Viper tax does apply. I think they are basically hand made with jigs, and from most accounts(mine included) are a perfect fit. If I had to do it over again, I would buy the same headers. Have yet to hear better. I would then have my muffler guy bend up the rest of the system for a fraction of what they sell for in Viper land.

I'd also like to pick up a set if possible depending on price. Put me down as 3rd I guess after Chad and Chris.

Tom from BTR told me you gain 40-50 hp with the whole Belanger Header/Exhaust system. I just bought one myself a couple of weeks ago and its going on tomorrow. Spending the 4 grand is worth it. From what ive heard it soudns good and make the car gain some power. Ill let you guys know tomorrow how it turns out.

I'm installing the full bellanger system shortly and I am getting the car dynoed before and after the install. All part of our VCO annual events which will start shortly. I hope steelhead season doesn't interfere with some of the events................Hmmmmmmmmmm...........what to chose?

I do not have any other modifications other then the bellanger.

I will let you guys know the outcome , not that I am doubting anyone. Just curious..............But for me its more the sound that I love about the system.

I understand that the 40-50 hp gains are

1st not rwhp
2nd these gains are on gen 2 cars that don't come with headers rather manifolds ( except for a select few made)

vd..

Kai thanks for posting the sound clips. I'm still researching what to do before my car arrives. I think I have up to 2 months.

Does anybody know how to upload multi media files to their gallery. I see it's possible to do, but I can't seem to make it work. I have a Belanger sound clip running from 0-100MPH or so. (Belanger headers/no cats/Belanger exhaust)Came out quite good. ...A 1/4 mile away on deceleration sounds like it's right next to you.

I also heard 50 hp gains on the full belanger, plus it sounds awesome.

I got 469rwhp and 490 or so rwtq with the full exhaust and BB stepped headers. No way you'll 50rwhp from headers and exhaust, but it defiently sounds way better, but is a bit loud at certain rmps. The Srt does run way smoother and needed the upgrade just to breathe better

Still waiting to hear ( like many folks on this forum ) full belanger system.

DOES ANYONE HAVE THIS....................PLEASE???

This is the full Belanger set up albeit on a Gen II car. ...Belanger headers, Belanger 3" exhaust with 3" Walker Race Bullet mufflers. No cats. (Walker Race Bullets are the Belanger muffler). I've had to replace them once---blew them out. I have almost 50,000 miles on this set up. The mufflers made it about 30,000 miles. The system sounds a little meaner on the older cammed cars.

This was recorded last summer with a little Garmin IQ3600 Palm Pilot thing my brother has. I am spinning most of the way through 1st. gear. My brother chuckles a little at the end because I am about a 1/4 mile away at about 100 MPH and it's still sounds like I'm right there. We've been heard 2 miles at WOT, yet cruising in 6th is not much different from stock. You need good speakers with a bass woofer to appreciate this clip.

Belanger "sound system"

Sounds good Steve. I see you found a way to post it.

Now if it only went as fast as it sounds. Hmm, maybe it will this spring. :)

Steve that exhaust sounds awesome. if the 06 coupe already has headers from the factory, will it benefit me to get the belanger headers? If it wont benefit then I will for sure get the cat back system.

Thanks. I guess it all depends on what you mean by benefit. If you mean HP. .....In my case I probably picked up around 30 HP, Hardly a good bang for the buck mod on a 00 car. The older GEN II cars could get up to 50 HP or so. I knew this going in. I did it mainly for the sound. To me, that's what a Viper should sound like. I don't know what the power gains would be from adding headers on a GEN III car. I think the 'pickle' design of the Belanger headers has a lot to do with the sound. As I stated above, if you were to only do a cat back system, a good muffler shop should be able bend up the pipe. Again, I'm speaking from a GEN II perspective. I know my muffler guy could easily bend up the piping under my car. The mufflers, for GEN II cars, are 3" Walker Race Bullets and can be bought for about $45 dollars each. I believe the muffler also adds to creating the 'Belanger sound'

Benefit to me means HP and torque gains. If you are saying you gained 30hp with the belanger system. Do you think in your opinion I would gain that amount with just a cat back, with high flow cats and muffler's? Im just trying to justify getting the belanger headers? I didnt know my 06 coupe came with headers from the factory. Im sure the belanger has a better flow rate, but again is it worth it

I would not get headers unless you are planning on doing head/cam modifications at some point. It's a lot of money and trouble for not much power gain. If you're going to do head/cam mods, then the headers make sense.
