As one of the benefit suppliers to the UAW, I can say that they have put together one of the best benefit packages ever assembled for their members. The negotiators deserve a lot of credit for getting such a comprehensive package.
As for what the Tribune reported, that is only the tip of the iceberg. Joining the UAW is a great career move. But some of you failed to read all of the fine print.
In most cases, only employees with 10 or more years get the complete package. That leaves a lot of vulnerable people on the firing line.
I hate to see any hard working American loose a job, especially at the hands of management that has no National connection. Just my Opinion.
