I lowered the seats in my '94 RT so that my fat head with helmet would be under the windshield and "sport bar" as required by the local track. A good rule, I believe.

I did this by removing the seat adjusting track and bolting the seat to the floor using (mostly) the stock mounting holes in the floor and (mostly) the stock holes through the bottom of the seat frame. Came out nice, and I sit 2" lower than before.

My elbow hits the console when shifting, especially 2nd to 3rd. I have a short shifter with just a stud between the knob and the shift mechanism, so a shift is as short as curling your fingers. But now I have to place my elbow up on the tunnel to shift, then back next to my side to steer.

The center console cover takes up a lot of space. It has a ****, and underneath it actually has little rubber feet to hold it up and over the parking brake mechanism. Removed them already, and shaved the rear most edge of the center console so it sits lower. I think it can go lower yet by cutting those feet, and maybe there's a way to move the console cover over more to the passenger side to give my elbow more room. Perhaps additional screws from the top down into the tunnel will flatten out the ****.

Anyway folks, how have you managed your elbow room when lowering the seats? All suggestions welcome.

Tom. Not Funny! Does your other elbow nail the door ledge too?

If you take a long trip in short sleeves, (like Portland to INDY, round trip!) You will have BLOODY elbows at the end!

I had to put a diaper on the console to keep my funnybone funny.

I had long ago glued closed cell foam pads on the door and the tunnel to save my elbow skin.

And I'm really only answering this to shamelessly bring the topic to the top of the list and give it a second try... otherwise I cut into the center console.
