lowering springs with stock shocks

I searched and couldn't find the answer.

I have a 2000 GTS and was wondering if the stock shocks life be shortened from lowering the car with the eibach springs?

I know that some cars recommend replacing the shocks with aftermarket ones to compensate for the lowering springs.

if you are into handling performance, when swaping the springs adjust the shocks from the stock full soft to a stiffer setting.
