To make a long story short... Marietta Dodge is not what it used to be when JD Farmer worked there.

In February 2004, I took my 98 GTS in for warranty work, because the check engine light was intermittently turning on (evap leak). They charged me several hundred dollars, and said they fixed the problem by replacing the evap test port. A few days later, the light came back on. So, I took the front fascia apart with J Dell's help, and what we found was a complete hackjob. They didn't replace the port (located in front of the driver's side front wheel). They cut the hose at the MIDDLE of the car, and zip tied it shut, making it impossible to test for evap leaks through the fog light rubber cover. So, I ended up rigging a vacuum hose to correct this.

I then used a smoker to find the leak myself, and found the fumes coming from the fuel tank. The Viper tech that replaced JD, had he been thorough whatsoever, should have noticed the fuel tank access cover on top of the rear bulkhead had been previously open. After a quick call to 1Tony1 and Mike Robbins, I found out that the fuel pump had been replaced recently under warranty at the previous dealer. At first, Marietta wouldn't replace the fuel pump seal (that was leaking) because they said that another dealer had replaced the fuel pump. ***? Why should that matter? After a bunch of complaining (and legal advice from ChrisGTS), I FINALLY got Marietta to fix the pump leak. It took them almost three weeks to do it (after several weeks/months to get the part in), and they gave me a rental car under warranty (crappy Sebring) to use. It was now June.

The rental car company is charging me for that rental (even though Marietta Dodge SWEARS it was paid out). I've tried disputing the charge, but AMEX can't do anything about it because Marietta can't prove that they paid (so I get stuck with the rental bill). I've been contacting Marietta back and forth since June, and the issue has not been resolved. I need to take it to the next level to get this resolved.

I've been reasonable. I didn't ask for the several hundred dollars I spent initially for their hackjob. I even paid the deductible to fix the fuel leak. But, I refuse to pay the rental ($500+) out of principle. I'm especially not paying it after Marietta's service department and accounting department has not fixed the issue after 5-6 months.

Granted, the car was working fine after they fixed it (of course, it required extra effort and direction on my part that wouldn't have been necessary with JD). But, the customer service level is not where it needs to be. I need the right people to know about this, so it doesn't happen again for someone else.

Ringgold Dodge, in Ringgold, GA will take good care of you. They are near Chattanooga, TN and Mike is the owner and a Viper guy. It is worth the drive if you want someone to treat you right. I must drive past at least 10 Dodge dealers on the way to Ringgold from my house. While you are up there, have 1Tony1 install a Roe for you!!! :2tu:

I know both Tony and Mike... in fact, Mike took care of the delivery and clutch job of my 98 :) I thought for sure that the evap leak would have been an easy fix. I was wrong! Marietta was convenient for me... and, I was used to going there when JD was working. It's just not the same place anymore :(

Don't know the Regional Service Manager but have to agree. I've bought 2 vehicles from Marietta Dodge and I NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVERRRRRR would deal with these clowns again.

My most recent experience with them was an 03 Hemi Ram I had bought. I had to bring it in so many times for the same reason (broken trim). They couldn't fix it. They had no value for my time, were rude, and when I tried dealing with the owner/manager, they wouldn't return my call. I brought it back 5 times. They'd say, "come on over we can put it in now" - I'd get there and the mechanic had just left. This kind of BS. The finally replaced the dash and broke various other pieces putting it in. I ulitmately brought it to Woodstock Chrysler who did the work of fixing the other dealerships screw ups. I was very pleased with how they did there work and the time frame they did it in.

I wouldn't let those clowns at Marietta work on my Viper if hell froze over.

My SRT had to go back for warranty work - its with Tom Sessions and D&E in NC - if that tells you anything ;)

I wouldn't let them stick you with that $500 rental fee either. How can they claim they paid the bill, but cannot show proof of the payment? They don't pay their bills in cash do, do they? lol

I hope it works out. I live 2 minutes from Marietta Dodge but have not used them yet.
