I have a 1994 rt/10 and it idles between 500-1000k. It idles irratically sometimes. It's intermittent. I just changed spark plugs with same types on before. It almost seems like a vacume leak? Where would the most common place be for a leak? I tightened down the mainifold bolts(intake). It doesn't do it all the time, just here and there. Any idea's common or not common?
thanks!

1) Check the intake air sensor / electrical connector onnthe airbox. Make sure it is connected and tight, and no worn insulation. Also check the small air hoses.

2) Re-torque intake manifold you already did.

3) are your air filters CLEAN?

4) O-2 sensor may be burned up - time to replace....

5) Did you discon the computer or battery? takes a while to re-learn idle.

I replaced the intake manifold gaskets on my '97 GTS (apparently commonly known to go on mine) In the end it was the idle-air-motor (IAC) piston sticking, replaced it and now OK (that was intermittent at first). Look to see if it might have set a IAC trouble code? Check for leaks on your intake rubber tubes, up from the air box, and for a good seal / seating at either end on these. There is also a gasket between your throttle bodies and intake manifold, possible potential for a leak here?. ?Try spraying some WD40 around to see if there a leak?
