MOPAR'S HUBINETTE LOOKS FOR HOUSTON REPEAT
Center Line, Mich. - Team Mopar's Samuel Hubinette is riding high as he
enters this weekend's Need For Speed Underground Formula Drift Championship event
at Reliant Park in Houston, Texas. Currently second in series points, Hubinette
carries the confidence of his victory at the facility in 2004, as "The Crazy
Swede" and his Mopar SRT10 Dodge Viper team is eager to recapture that
feeling.
"This weekend's event in Houston is all about having some fun and putting on
a great show for the fans," Hubinette said. "Our goal is to place as high as
possible and hopefully earn a podium finish. Last round's win at Road Atlanta
was a great confidence booster, and having won at Reliant Park last season will
allow us to come to Houston with a good sense of what we need to do to
perform well."
Coming off a second round victory at Road Atlanta in May, Hubinette is geared
up and ready for the battle that the Reliant Park event presents. The team is
tested and ready to roll for the southern region's drifting fans. Hubinette,
while confident in the team's preparations, is quick to point out that the
third round is completely up for grabs.
"It's going to be a tight battle," Hubinette said. "In order to win this
weekend, we'll need to bring a lot of consistency and work through the heat of the
region to stay focused. With some luck, we won't make any mistakes. This
year, there is no room for error, as there are so many great competitors at each
event."
Hubinette was the 2004 Need For Speed Underground Formula Drift Series
champion. En route to capturing the series title, he swept three of four events. The
Mopar SRT10 Dodge Viper that Hubinette pilots for the 2005 season is prepared
by DC Performance and Archer Racing.
Round three of the Need For Speed Formula Drift Championship will take place
at Reliant Park on June 10 and 11. For more information regarding Mopar,
