Re: Name that

Ding Ding Ding!!! You are correct!!! Tell him what he's won Bob. A NEW CAR!

Just kidding, I changed my plugs last night and this is what I found. I'm talking to Sean about it in hopes of tuning it out. I changed to NGK's and man I could swear my car feels like it pulls quite a bit harder, even the note of the engine changed to an ever so slighly deeper tone. I switched to the NGK 7252, which they say matches the stocker. But I've read somewhere that they are actually a step colder and work well with nitrous. The only thing different I did was reduce the gap to 28 instead of 30. I'll keep everone posted on my findings.

If you find that the NGK7252 runs a little too hot you might want to try the NGK6418 Iridium. This was suggested to me by NGK when I was looking for a plug one step cooler than the 7252. The 7252 looked real good on the street but when ran hard was too hot. The 6418 is expensive but you get a lot of life out of them. Oh yea, they said not to adjust the gap on them.

Re: Name that

What do you mean by "run hard"? Are you talking about the track? What were the symtoms of running hot?

They seemed ok for street use but I checked them after doing some laps and they looked way too hot. They might work just fine for you. I just wanted to give you another
alternative just in case.

Re: Name that

From the for what it's worth department:

** It is still NOT suggested that platinum plugs be used on vehicles with nitrous injection (from Champions website)
There have been instances where the platinum tip has lost its bond to either the center or ground electrode when they were used in a motor with nitrous.
