Can anybody help here? Will we be able to run on track without a top? If not, does soft top qualify? I assume if first two questions are a no, RT/10's will have to have hard tops on.

In prior years, RT/10s have been allowed to run *******.

Everyone runs with a Skip Barber instructor riding shotgun.

The Nashville Super Speedway road course DOES NOT use the banked oval. Last VOI the banked turns proved to be very ugly for Vipers. The road course uses the back straight and the front pit lane, I believe.

If you have a helmet, bring it, otherwise, helmets will be available for loan.

Usually you get about three laps and three sessions. Different Skip Barber instructor each session.

You will NOT see super high speeds - there are usually too many folks out on the track (no passing) and the experience levels are different, despite Viper HQ trying to group people according to skill (you guys wouldn't lie would ya???).

This part of VOI is really not about track time, per se, but to give you a good flavor of what the car is capable of, and allow you to ratchet up the speed and learn something about the line. Not alot of time to do either, though.

If you really want track time - stay for Viper Days....

Given Janni's description, is it OK to run completely stock then, without upgrading brake fluid and pads? (I know this is a no no for Viper Days). Also, will there be anyone available to do work on your car at the track sessions of VOI like there is at Viper Days?

As long as your fluids and tires and car are in good condition for street driving (meaning you follow normal maintenance schedules NOT just based on mileage, but TIME) then you will be fine.

I know that Archers will be at the track with a display and perhaps installation area. Give them a call - www.archerracing.com

I called the speedway. They said they have no helmets for loan or rent. The driving school there, I'm told, has about a dozen but is not connected to the speedway. Janni, are the loaner helmets from Viper people?

I'm also wondering if we will need helmets for the autocross which is normally the case. Will DC supply some?

Thanks--Steve

I have three helmets. I am not going to VOI. I would be willing to let folks borrow 2 of them as long as they are taken care of and I get them back!

Maybe I could give them to our club prez or if someone wants to get dibs on borrowing one, let me know.

One if s Shoei XXL and the other is an HJC Large size.
