Need help on hood latch

I can't seem to figure out what to place on the clasp ( I think its called a clasp )for the hood lock to avoid it from continuing to scuff up. I want to touch it up, however, knowing very well that it will happen again and again with use. Is there a rubber compound I can put around it or some other recommendation. It bugs me knowing that its there!!

Also I ordered some products from Viper trim..........great product and extremely easy to install. Love the way it looks.............
