Need help w/ a brake job

Larry, You have to re-seat the caliper piston. The only way to do this is by screwing the piston back in to the bore in a CLOCKWISE direction. They have a special tool (#6366) that has two pins on it to fit into the holes, but you can do it probably by hand with a pair of snap ring pliers or something you have around to fit into the two holes.

First of all, I really have to know how the heck did you wear out a set of pads on a 2000 car? Or are you just upgrading your pads? Well, you should use a caliper piston tool that Snap On, Matco, and Mac sell. I belive Lisle sells a universal one for under $20 that you use in conjunction with a 3/8" ratchet. It is like a small metal cube with nibs on 6 sides for 6 applications. Personally, whenever I do brakes and have to either push the piston in or screw the piston in, I always crack the bleeder and let fluid run out so as to not damage any of your brake components. Obviously, you'll have to bleed the brakes after that, but it will be done right.

I used needle nose pliers and it worked like a champ.
