Not sure if this is bogus or an urban legend, but read the following as I would probably fall victim to this scheme:

Subj: From The Florida State Police - NOT A JOKE

NEW WAY TO DO CARJACKING (THIS IS NOT A JOKE)

Heads up everyone! Please pass this on...
You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside. You start
the engine and shift into reverse, and when you look into the rear view
mirror to back out of your parking space, you notice a piece of paper
stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you shift into park, unlock your
doors And jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is)
that Is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car, that
is when the carjackers appear out Of nowhere, jump into your car and take
off. They practically mow you down As they speed off in your car. And
guess what, ladies? I bet your purse Is still in the car, and if they see your
home address and have your keys, Your home is now compromised!

BEWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.

If you see a piece of paper stuck to your back window, just drive away,
remove the paper later and be thankful that you read this e-mail. Hope You
will forward this to friends and family, especially to women. A purse
contains all kinds of personal information and identification documents,
and you certainly do NOT want this to fall into the wrong hands.

Thank you.

Wouldn't you notice the paper when you walk up to your car? And if they put it on after you got in hopefully you would see someone darting around your car and/or hear them slap on the paper.

It's a good idea to drive off first before removing the paper but if one just stayed alert you could avoid any problems.

Although this may be spam I think it's good food for thought. There are many ways car jackers can get you out of your car unsuspectingly. I always lock my doors as soon as I get in one of my cars and I wouldn't even roll the windows down if I had any suspicion that some thing was unusual. Of course, locking my doors doesn't do my any good when I'm in my RT/10! lol

In Texas they just shove a pistol barrel in your ear, so you have to be on the lookout for that too.
