Welcome aboard, and congradulations on your purchase.
You are going to LOVE this car!!!!I'll email you a list of mods and
point you to the sources for prices/service from the various vendors I have dealt with. Although you may not want to do everything I've done, it should point you in the right direction...........

WELCOME ! Your 2001 VCA membership was paid for by Dodge. make contact at the links on our main page www.viperclub.org

1) Break-In the Viper cautiously, conservatively, carefully. Your reward will be higher compression, more HP, less oil consumption. Be very patient and prudent for 800-1000 miles.
Be EXTRA careful on cold tires, even in WARM weather!

2) Oil Change at 250-300 mi. Swap to a Mobil One or NAPA Gold oil filter.

3) Since you asked: K+N (or MoPar HP) air filters and smoothe intake hoses will gain you a crisper throttle response and around +10 HONEST HP. For under $160 total, from a number of vendors here.

4) Did you buy an extended service contract (Warrantee)? DO Consider it for RESALE VALUE even if you plan to sell before 3yr/36000 miles. DO IT. Competitive prices at Woodhouse Dodge linked above and Fitzgerald Dodge: 1-800-VIPER15 Erica

5) Exhaust mods will make that UPS-truck tone sound more like a V-10 should. "Mufflers For Misers" exhaust mods can be $100, up to a good rear-sub stainless unit with nice tips for about $550. That gains an additional 5-7 HP when added to hoses/filters above. Full cat-back systems can be had from CORSA, BORLA and privateers. Hi-flow cats are about $300 - $400. Headers from $1200-$2500.......and you get what you pay for.

Other internal mods available, may invalidate your OEM warrantee. You may not care, but I point it out FYI.

Now I have a question: This bozo salesman ("these idiots don't know a thing about these cars") sold you the "1st Race Yellow Viper Ever Produced." Hmmmm. This genius gave you what documentation? There are a LOT of '01 yellows out running around already! E-me your last 5 vin #s and the MDH code on your drivers door. I'll check if you like. Could be you got HIS 1st Race Yellow Viper. Or, he could be telling the truth!
