According to a December article in Automobile Mag. Sergio Marchionne had a recent "surprise" in discovering that Cerebus shut the department down 2 years ago. IF, this is true, how could they have been developing a Gen V Viper with no staff

Had heard rumors of that a year or two ago. Was part of Cerberuses "strip and sell" plan. Why pay engineering if it was going to be someone elses problem?

I saw that and did not take it literally. That was in Jean Jennings column which is generally not news but her commentary on things and it was a humorous reference that Cerberus obviously did want a lot of money spent on R&D so they tied their hands, but certainly not shut down.
