Just got my 1996 rt/10 black/silver stripe on sunday with only 10,000 miles. car looks cherry. bought from dealer in GA and had shipped up. Drove on highyway for the first time and boy does this car have balls! Owned several vettes through the years from 1990-1996. Anyway purchased with 3 yr 45,000 mile warranty plus.
When I drove on expressway at varibles speeds and accelerations noticed oil pressure guage fluctate. Should I BE CONCERNED AND SHOULD IT BE CHECKED? Engine wasn't overheating.

New viper owner just be cautious

First of all, a highly damped oil pressure gage will not respond to bad bearings. (A undamped one will actually pulsate with a spun main!)

Fluctuation?

You need to define this better. Measure at least peak to peak amplitude and approximate frequency and if frequency is related to any other events such as braking, cornering, shifting, crankshaft revs, etc.
