WHAT A BLAST!!! I had a great time. Took my first 4 runs ever on a 1/8 mile drag strip. Based on the VCA board and feedback a 8.3 would be a good first time. Here's the scoop:

{I can scan the slips if that's "protocol"}

I've got a lot to learn about the reaction time. Got to pop the clutch at the second yellow. I kept waiting for the green. If I understand the reaction times I can definitely be in the 7's with some practice.

First run:
Reaction, 60 ft, 330 ft, 1/8 ET, 1/8 MPH
1.0053, 1.9037, 5.2710, 8.0961, 82.32
Comments: Missed third gear - tried to force third to far right - ouch.

Second run:
Reaction, 60 ft, 330 ft, 1/8 ET, 1/8 MPH
1.201, 2.0429, 5.5530, 8.632, 73.19
Comments: Missed third gear AGAIN $%^@$%@$#% - double ouch!!!.

Third run:
Reaction, 60 ft, 330 ft, 1/8 ET, 1/8 MPH
1.1676, 1.8232, 5.2388, 8.0384, 87.92
Comments: Good clean run - reaction time killed me (I actually hit 3rd gear this time!!! )

Fourth and final run:
No times, slip was missing when I went to get it but it didn't matter. Too much at the line and spun the tires real good. It would have been my slowest time.

For the guys that know this stuff - any critique on the times? What should I be hitting for the reation time?

Shouldn't the top end speed be higher?

Shifting too soon? I was definitely in the 5K plus range on the shifts - but maybe I need to push it a little more?

Thanks for all the info. I had a blast. Good clean fun... :D :D :D :D

Great times! The times look good. The mph should be a little higher....low 90's maybe in the 1/8th mile.

Reaction time does not affect your ET at all, which means you could sit at the line for 5 seconds and still run low 8's.
The main thing is to keep you 60' time down, along with fast, clean shifts at the optimum RPMs.

Good Luck!
