Yesterday I ran my '96 GTS onmy favorite local mountain pass. It was a very hot day, with an air temperature close to 98F. The car ran fine, until I noticed the temperature gauge was just about all the way to the red mark. The "engine temperature" light was not lit at this time, but I decided to pull off the side of the road, rested the car for a while, and then coasted back down the hill.
Later in the evening, I read the service manual, which seemed to indicate that this was still at the upper end of the allowed temperature range...
Am I being to cautious here? Is there something simple I can do to improve the cooling performance?
Any advice would be appreciated!
