Personal plate question...

Okay, do all of you that have personal plates leave your cars on the road all year long? If I turn in plates am I surrendering that name or since I pay a yearly fee is that reserved? I did a search on NYs website and nothing. Figured Id throw it out on here before I deal with a "lovely" dmv person.

If you can just keep renewing them every year. May seem silly for a car you only drive five months out of the year but at least you know no one else will get your plates.

True, unfortunately in Buffalo, the are obsessed with road salt. But thanks for the info

You might just get a license plate clear cover if you are worried about the plate rusting.
You can get a laser shield and kill 2 birds with one stone.

I can't recall, but I think that once you turn in a "custom" plate it get's "suspended" for either 6 months or a year.
