I have the 7336 model, 6 speed. Should it be rotating like the way it is?? Looks like when I put it against the car finish it just kinda vibrates around like a sander. Is that the way it turns??

That exactly how its supposed to work. The orbital action helps prevent swirl marks and burnt paint.
I have one myself and wouldn't trade it for anything.

It should be doing a wax-on wax-off miogi style movement, like if you were waxing with both hands 6000 times a minute. If it is vibrating too hard (or jiggly), you need to buy the correct counterweight for whichever size pad you are using (5" weight for 5" pad, 6" weight for 6" pad in most cases).

I was in Lowes today and they have to special order the 7336. They also told me that the different pads don't go on the 7336 sander/polisher, but that they go on the other model which is just a polisher. Does anyone know anything about this. I don't want to order the wrong one.

I got my PC from Steve at Tropi-care(9727439443) He also has the backing plate that alows you to use the velcro pads. The best detail product ever!

Either model will work with the velcro backing plate and foam pads. You are better off with the 7336 (6" counter weights). I would get the one that is both sander and polisher (7336) and then order your backing plate and foam pads from www.properautocare.com. The white foam pad it comes with is not the best but will work in a pinch.

While I got my 7336 at Lowes (they stocked it then), I got a 3M Hook-It plate, 5" and some Meguiars' pads, 6", at my local auto body supply shop.

Make sure you get the Hook It pad...not Hook It II...the velcro is reversed on the IIs.

I have one but I like to wax my car by hand anyways...maybe I'll apply by hand then go over it with the PC next time see if it makes a difference.
