Are most people just trading into dealers when they upgrade? I rarely see any private party listings. Anyone planning on selling soon?

It is funny right now, seems private party sales you see guys asking for prices that are higher than brand new gen5's, or guys a trading in for God knows pennies on the dollar and then dealers are listing them at just about a brand new price, lol. The guys trading need to get the trade in price, add $5k and post them for sale, but then, you give up the tax discount, so between being easy and not hugely important to most over a couple grand to deal with used car buyers, trading in can seem like the better path.

Saw a couple used TA's for sale, at Roanoke and a few other dealers. One had 1500 miles on it and they wanted 96K.
Another listed a used one for over 100K.
My friend bought a new white TA for 91.5 from Criswell Dodge. Brand New.
Dealers are low balling the trade ins and trying to make 20K on them. Good luck.

Yea, a friend of mine bought a black TA for $92k brand new last week. The used prices even at reputable dealers are a bit silly to me, why would anyone pay more used than new, going into winter for half the country.

I've been looking at a few things out there, but with winter almost fully here, I feel stupid not to wait more til xmas and look for end of year prices. When I price out exactly what I would order & knowing I already have an offer to order at invoice +$500 right in my neighborhood dealer at the moment, it's a debate of price being a lot lower than what I'd order & not having to wait. Although soon not waiting just means putting it on a battery tender, lol.

I'd wait, especially with winter closing in. Wait till January when they've sold three that month.
They'll be dealing.

I would love to sell mine. But with paying $95,000 plus tax on a $127,000 car I thought I got a good deal. 1100 miles. Need no lower than $87,000

The used market is indeed upside down right now. Dealers out there are the problem. Making low ball trade in's for $72 k to $75 K then trying to sell in the Mid $90 k. Just bull ****. Ah maybe dodge will do us and them greedy ******** all a favor and cancel the whole program. Its coming and everyone knows

so the dealer should basically take the trade in at a very high price and then sell it at a much lower price?

there would not be too many dealers surviving with such a policy... .

Dealers must be in a position to make a profit. when I attempted to trade my gen 4 in against my Gen 5 the dealer price was below what I was looking for. I understood why the dealer price was lower and then advertised the car and sold it to a private party for more money. none of this caused me to think there was anything wrong with the dealer.

prices new or used now are absolutely spectacular and I cannot imagine how many buyers would have a problem with that.

The problem also happens when in most states, you trade in and get the savings on the tax difference, if you lose 4500 in tax money, affects the trade in value, somehow the dealer network lobbied the state governments and get this advantage to "stealing" trade ins !! My $.02

It should have been canceled after the 2010 year when the Viper would have gone out on top. Now it is dieing a slow death while being dragged through the mud with all our prices being hammered as well. Had they ended it and came back with a redesigned, new revolutionary look, everyone including Dodge would be benefiting. Present owner's prices would be going up and Dodge's sales of their new car would also.
I for one would add a new redesigned viper to the one I have. Till then I'm a 1 Viper owner.
REDESIGN THIS CAR NOW

It was resurrected with bail out money...hence cursed from jump street.

I'd make the ACR and pull the plug. Go out on top.
