Question about Cats?

Hello,

I am a new member here to the Viper Club Forum. I bought my 1993 Black RT/10 in July! I traded in my beloved M Roadster and have NO regrets! I have moidified my RT/10 with smooth tube and K&N's. I know this is against popular opinion, but I really like my stock exhaust sound. I want to remove my cats for the extra horse power and louder sound. My question is, how much HP can I expect by removing the cats?

Thanks,
Troy

WELCOME!
With a GEN1 sidepiped car, contact Sean Roe, he has a complete system for you side exhaust types! Hi-fow cats will also keep the sills a bit cooler.

Remove the cats and also the original mufflers. You'll loose plenty of pounds.
Replace either with high flow cats and mufflers or with just mufflers.
While you are at it, replace the sidepipes with a 3" exhaust, it may cost you 200 bucks or so. I have 3" exhaust with Dynomax mufflers. Plenty loud and 410HP/477TQ.

Go for it.
Stock sounds like a stupid Hoover vacuum cleaner.... :D :D :D
