I am led to believe that the 97 Gen II motor is an internal balance motor..? Am I correct? ? ?

I have a shop that is having a hard time getting weights right to balance.
I am using ross pistons that are 60 grams lighter than stock... any input would be appreciated.

Right.

I don't know why that would be a problem. Are you using stock rods and a stock crank?

They should be able to balance it fine. They may have to drill and fill the crank if it's seriously off, but you really do want it balanced properly.

The shop is saying that the crank is still too light on the counterbalance weights? If the crank is lighter than the new pistons,,,,it must have been off a ton with the stock pistons at +60 grams each!!!
He is just not seeing the weight that far off, as the main bearings are not showing off balance wear from the stock parts.

ANY thoughts?

The pistons said TRW, and I am assuming that is what stock pieces were?
