Question about stripes on 97 GTS

[Blue Streak]

After looking through alot of ads and websites for my soon to be purchased Viper, Ive noticed that some of the stripes(on the blue/white ones) goes through the license plate area and some do not. Which is factory correct?

1996 GTS's go through the plate area, all 1997 GTS's do not.
