I know these "kills" are a dime a dozen, but I don't get to race much around here, so bear with me.
Got on at Hollywood Blvd heading downtown to Ambria with my girfriend Saturday night. My cool car radar immediately picks up a red Ferrari and a black Porsche a few cars ahead.
As the highway opens up, with moderate traffic, I get around and pass the Porsche who seems disinterested and only a Carrera 4S anyway. The 360 is way down the road already, but I catch up to him without any problem. He's not racing at this point, just moving at a nice clip.
As I come up closing on his bumper, traffic opens up and he guns it. I see his car jump ahead. I have it in 3rd and floor it, and am reeling him in in no time, closing in on his bumper. Each time I get close, he backs off the gas for traffic, but we run like this 3-4 times, and no question I pulled him in and he had to see me looming larger in his rearview every time. At one point we pulled alongside each other and gave "the nod". He was with his girlfriend, too. We exited shortly after. The only disappointment was never having the chance to run side-by-side, and , um, blowing a shift into 4th once.
My girlfriend yelled at me the whole rest of the way till we got to the restaurant, not seeing the point. Never mind, she forgave me after a nice dinner and bottle of wine. But it's still nice to reel in a car costing twice as much as yours.
