Correct ! The 'door handle trim surround' piece slides REARWARD about 1/2 inch, then pops right off. It slides easier if you depress the entire piece, then slide it rearward.

(ps....I broke a 'toe' my first time! )

My faceplate came off by itself. And I can not get it back on. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but it will not stay on. To take off you should push towards the rear of the car.

I just got my Carbon Fiber Dash Kit in. I must say, looks alot better in person.. (I hope just like the '03 Viper!)

The piece that surrounds the door handle actually finds a little behind the black trim piece. What is the correct way / procedure to removed the black face plate?
Any help would be appreciated..

Thanks
Gerald

Don't pry on it! The piece "slides", but I can't remember if towards front or back (when door is closed). The way to get it off is to push it directly forwards/rearwards and the four hooks will unclip. The hooks DO NOT let you pry it outwards, towards the other door. Think of four "L" shaped feet, with the toes all pointing in the same direction.

If you learn the hard way, you'll break one or two toes off, and find out the dealer wants something like $50 to replace it.
