RT folks, what\'s your fastest speed with the top off?

I was cruising around today with the top off (car and passenger's, just kidding!). I felt like winding it up but by the time I hit 120 mph I really felt like I was going to get my head blown off. I had the rear window in which might make a difference. I've had my car up over 170 with the top on but I'm curious how fast you have gone with the top off. Back window out make a difference?

185-190 some where around there. With passenger.

@#@$$%@#$ Albert, was that with the top off, you are as crazy as I thought!! Were your hands the only part of you touching the car? I can picture it now, your legs sticking straight up in the air, one hand on the wheel and one on the gas...your passenger doing the same except with his/her fingernails gripping the glove box and teeth clamped around the seat head rest!

165 mph for me but that was one handed as my glasses were blowing off and I had to hold them on with the other hand. I almost never have my rear window in, a lot less wind with it out.

Yeah, the rear window has to be out. My girlfriend didnt say a word. And yes everyone behind us watching thought I was crazy.

Well, you've convinced me to take that stinkin' rear window out anyway. I left it it thinking it would help the wind situation but apparently not. Walking to garage now to take it out...

160 for me, no rear or side windows, scary part was the wind
noise, found myself getting lower in the car just peeping over
the steering wheel

162 MPH--back window out/side windows down -- Chelsea Proving Grounds high speed oval.

I've hit about 130. The noise, wind get pretty ugly. I had a run-in with a Vette on Friday. Had the soft top on, hit about 105 or so and the top made a sound that I don't want to hear again. I guess vibration.

167 (93 stock RT10)was as fast as I could get it on the straight at Road America. That number was given to me by a member who had a radar gun. I could not imagine the RT10 doing much more since the car starts to feel real light footed at that point.

174, that was on the GPS. Was still pulling in 5th.. It was
very noisy, I could barely hear the guy yelling out the GPS speed. I think 180 was possible, and the car fealt solid on the road.

Rear window in. Windows up, papers flying about the interior..

About 155 MPH for me with the top and windows off. Patrick, just as a rule of thumb, when the top is ON leave the back window in and when the top is OFF, remove the back window. This seems to work best for me and the other RT drivers I know.

Rear window out, as best I could tell 173 mph, just made a quick glance at the speedo, I was concentrating on other things.

The rear wing actually helped a bit, it didn't seem a light in the back as previous high speed blasts without the deck wing.

I've yet to get much over 100mph, but the best window/top
combo so far has been soft top on, side curtains out, and rear window open. With the rear window up, there is a heck of a lot of air blowing from the back of the cabin up over your head.
Window open, it seems to go right out the back. Even the stereo
works great with this combination.
