shiftlight issue

I went in on the group purchase for the shift light. I installed it and it works well if i have it set at 3300rpm's or lower. Once I set the shift point at 4000-5800 the light will not ever come on. I tapped in onto the Coil #1 (black w/ gray) on the PCM. Anyone else encounter this? I think I wil ltry and tap off of another coil and see if that helps...???

On the 2001 GTS, pin1 on C1 is yellow/gray, I believe. Are you absolutely positive that you are on a coil driver wire?

Are you using taps, or solder? I used taps and did just fine, but I've heard people who had better luck with solder. I wonder if the higher engine revs is shaking your taps loose?

Keep us posted... if you could find the post under the group buy, and post it there, I think it would help out a lot of people who may encounter the same problem.

What does that mean exactly? I thought C1 was the connector on the far left (out of three) if you are looking at the PCM with the cover removed.

Keep in mind that if you look at the Group Buy post, Vipermad added my install instructions with pictures to my FIRST post on that thread.

C1 is on the left, C2 is the middle, abnd C3 is on the right (closest to the driver's side door).

With 70+ lights in circulation, it is possible that one of them isn't working... but i'd double-check the wiring and i do not recommend using the quick-connect things... but sometimes they work and sometimes they don't.

There are pics of the install on my first post. Have you set the switches to:

1-Off
2-Off
3-On

If changing the ignition coil wire doesn't work (and soldering doesn't, either), shoot me a PM. I'll get in contact with the vendor to get you a replacement. Hopefully, it's the light and not something with your Viper's PCM!
