Ryan,

COD is fine, however it's not difficult to use any other form or method of shipping. I would suggest UPS or DHL. You can call them for a one time pick-up.

As for packing them, i would suggest going to your local pack and ship store and purchase the boxes to ship them in! When we ship used wheels, this is what we do. DHL is probably the cheapest and fastest method.

Good luck! You could also goto Best Buy or any other appliance store and they would probably give you large sheets of cardboard that you could wrap around the wheels. We package 2 wheels to a box with cardboard in between the wheels.

they buyer is on this site, however he is not a "VCA MEMBER", why would you only ship cod if you really knew him, as i do not know him other than our phone conversation.

thanks,
ryan

Regarding COD
Ive sent items UPS COD and have had the recipient stop payment on the check and I was SOL...
Sure I could probably hunt them down and sue them or something, but be careful.

and if a check...wait long enough after its cashed so it doesnt come back at ya.

Maybe have the buyer identify himself here and some other "member" may vouch for him to ease your mind...
Just a thought...

I often receive items COD Certified Funds only. He would have to go to his bank & have a certified check issued.

Most anytime I have boought something from someone here on the site...I send them a check. They ship when they are comfortable....could be same day I send a check...or after it clears. Sounds kinda silly, but if I can't trust more of you lot I might as well sell the darn car! :)

Packaging....I think I have pictures in my gallery of when Kinesis shipped my wheels back to me. Needless to say...I have those boxes still. :)

i have done some homework on the buyer, and iam able to verify his place of employement, and he is the one with the idea of CASH on delivery....meening green only. am i wrong or is this pretty safe? by the way he works for a major auto dealership. so far i honesty feel pretty safe with him but the suggestion always help and are more than welcome. what is the turn around time for me to get the money if i use paypal, and does that mean they have to go through ebay, wat is paypals fee?

I work for UPS. The best way to ship wheels to somebody is send COD with the need for a certified bank check or money order. I have had a business customer who bounced checks often and eventually went bankrupt, again. All his suppliers used this method of certified funds. Make sure a note is made to keep all wheels together or even use a COD on each wheel. The reciever can still have one money order made for all 4 wheels.

As far as packaging, double boxing with multiple layers of cardboard will protect the wheels. Overpacking is cheap insurance and will not weigh enough to effect the cost to ship that much. Use insurance since it is also cheap and will protect against theft. Make sure the address is correct and visible with no other labels on boxes.

Have a nice holiday.
