I have been thinking about going to a shorter shifter. Is it as easy to replace as it looks? I have an 02 ACR.

I'm pretty good with tools. Can you tell me if I would need any special tools and what's involved?

Thanks!

Drove an 08 last week (Thanks Dave Andrews) that had a short shifter installed. Best feeling and most accurate of any Viper I've ever driven. (Don't know whos' shifter was installed)

How hard/easy is it to unscrew the factory ball handle ('02)? Will it get damaged?

Thanks

See pictures above, the lower part of the OEM handle has a flat spot to use a wrench and right below it is the jam nut. Loosen jam nut and unscrew the OEM handle

Doooh - make sense now....OEM handle = ball & shaft....very nice kits!!

Thanks for the clarification

Hi Dave
Do you make the 8 Ball with 6 speed pattern in White also ?
That would be my dream shifter, memories of the old Hurst shifter with big white ball.
